Phyllis Greenberg began her career as an educator in Mathematics, Science, Computers and Special Education in the summer of 1978. In 1987 she took a position as the Director of Funded Programs and Special Projects for District 27Q where she served through June of 2003. From 2003 to 2007 she functioned as the Operations Supervisor for the Queens ROC. Upon her retirement in 2007, she came on board at CEI-PEA to work on school-based finance issues.
