Ellen Padva began her service to the children of New York City as a teacher of Special Education in District 9 and was rapidly promoted to the position of Instructional Support Specialist. During her tenure in this role she successfully supported a number of previously struggling middle schools be designing and delivering professional development in areas such as literacy, team teaching and alternate assessment. In 2006 she spearheaded the New York State Alternate Assessment process for Region 1. In July, 2007 Ellen resigned her position with the Department of Education to assume the role of Supervisory Support Specialist with CEI-PEA.
