In 1964 Stenley began an accounting firm which grew into Goldstein Golub & Kessler, one of the major firms in the New York area. For the past twenty years, he has been a private investor. Stanley has served on the Board of Directors of the Great Books Foundation and has led discussion groups for the past twenty five years. He is currently president of the American Friends of James Joyce and leads their reading groups. Stanley served as President of the Brooklyn College Alumni Association and was a trustee on the board of the Brooklyn College Foundation.
